Small Business and Entrepreneur Panel: Businesses That Bring Customers to Brick and Mortar Establishments
Marketing acumen is critical in an increasingly competitive marketplace. Finding new customers and maintaining relationships matters. Business owners – especially small business owners – oftentimes struggle to find the best fit inbound marketing platform. Many wonder which new technologies work best and how to use them. The Brookline Chamber of Commerce addressed how businesses can use technology to attract and maintain customers. On November 9th 2015, the Chamber hosted a panel event, “Businesses That Bring Customers to Brick and Mortar Establishments.”
Moderated by Scott Kirsner, innovation journalist for The Boston Globe, Wired, Fast Company, Variety, and other business publications, conversation was informative and entertaining. Panelists included: Randy Parker, CEO of PagePart and founder of Constant Contact; Cory Von Wallenstein, CEO of Adored.com, a customer loyalty development site; Damien Smith, Boston Community Manager and Marketing Director for Yelp.com; and Xiomara Lorenzo, Senior Researcher from The Society of Grownups.
Panelists shared stories about their projects and brand. Attendees learned about new technologies in the pipeline, how to consider what’s best for their particular client base, and how exceptional customer service still plays a vital role, even in an online marketplace. The venue was packed with guests who represented a wide swath of business types, including local retail, real estate, financial planning, design, music education, and online and app-based businesses. Guests were treated to delicious appetizers and desserts from The Fireplace. Attendees ate well, learned a lot, and made connections.
