Literally Local was started by the collaboration between Karen Flannery and Sharrel Meeker of Andem Art Studios and Jamie Siracusa of Brothers&SistersCo/Jamie’s Ice Cream. Being big supporters of the community in Brookline Village for years, they all had a vision to bring a shop to Brookline Village that would showcase ONLY local artists and to create an “accessible art gallery” where everyone could afford to buy art and help support those local artists. Literally Local houses over 50 local to Boston (and New England) artists’ work in a multitude of price ranges. From ceramics, jewelry, paintings, photography, sculpture, collage, and even wood work in large and small scale – there’s something for everyone! Every time you stop into the shop you will most likely find new work from existing artists as well as new artists practically every couple months. Whether you have a large blank wall at home and you’re looking for a one of a kind original piece, or you just need a small and unique gift for someone – they have it all! Every purchase made directly supports a local artist. And they’re happy to tell you about the artists and show you where to follow them on social media!
Literally Local is artist owned and operated and hopes that the public will show up to support small and local this holiday season (and beyond). Come on in, pick a vinyl record to play while you shop, and grab some ART this holiday season! They also have fun logo merch like tee-shirts, totes and handmade beanies available – fun to send to family and friends far away that miss home.
