The Brookline Chamber of Commerce board endorses a “no” vote on question 5 this November. We agree with the sentiments of Governor Healey, many local mayors, and the majority of servers and bartenders throughout the state who have endorsed a “no” vote. We believe a “yes” on question 5 will result in higher menu prices, lower wages overall, less employment in the industry, and more shuttered small, independent restaurants that still haven’t recovered from the COVID pandemic.
